Leaders from Kitutu Masaba Constituency and Kenya Tea Development under the leadership of Nyansiongo tea factory have lauded Matunua residents for giving out land for the construction of a new factory.
Led by Politician Victor Swanya, Walter Nyambati who is chairman to Jomo Kenya Foundation and Director Rachel Orina, the leaders said that it is not easy for residents to give out their land as Matunua residents did.
“It is not so easy for one to give his ancestral land to the company for the construction of a tea factory, but by giving this land, it shows that you are ready for development,” Said Swanya
The leaders lauded residents for their willingness and their support towards the construction of the tea factory.
“Residents of Matunua, I would like to let you know that whatever you have done will benefit you as your children are going to get jobs,” said Nyambati.
He also advised them to keep on with the same spirit as one way of welcoming development projects.
Rachel Orina, tea Director from the area supported the sentiments, saying that they will work with all stakeholders to improve lives.
