Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has praised residents of Rongai sub-county for turning out in large numbers for the Gavana Mtaani outreach programme.
Speaking Wednesday at Kampi ya Moto centre in Rongai, Mbugua expressed his joy with the way the residents turned up in organised groups to present their concerns and issues affecting them collectively to the county team led by himself and his deputy Joseph Ruto.
"Am pleased to note how groups have come together to address issues that directly affect them collectively. This in turn makes it easier and effective to look into and respond them," he said.
He added that within a short time, he had already met several groups, some of whom included the Skyline Sacco with whom they had discussed at length a proposal to collect revenue in the sub-county on behalf of the county government.
He also expressed optimism that issues raised such as roads and water would be addressed through such interactions in each and every sub-county as his government would be better placed in coming up with solutions and mechanisms to solve them.
The two-day programme concludes Thursday.
