Lanet MCA Samuel Kamau on Thursday promised to intervene in a looming crisis that has seen thousands of students remain out of school after their institution was closed unceremoniously.

Speaking after joining a group of demonstrating parents waving twigs and chanting slogans to vent their anger over the issue, Kamau promised to liaise with both the county and sub-county directors of Education to find out why learning has not resumed.

"All of you are as shocked as I am because it beats logic for such an institution to close without proper communication. Where will our children, especially the candidates go?" he wondered.

He called on the school's management to explain the anomaly saying lack of communication was making the situation worse.

The school management could not be reached for comment while guard at the gate said he had been given orders not to allow anyone into the compound.

"They could have allowed some people in the school to explain to the parents and students the change or rather mounted posters at the gate. Shying away from the school raises more tension as everybody is left guessing," the MCA advised.

The area has been characterised by ugly scenes of demonstrating parents and students since Tuesday, the official opening date indicated on the students report forms.

Both the secondary and primary sections have remained closed, with some parents demanding a refund of the money they had already deposited in the school account as fees.
