Gituamba ward Member of County Assembly Samuel Ng’ang’a plans to table a bill to push for equitable access of tenders and work contracts for youths, disabled persons and women.

Ng’ang’a said that youths and disabled persons mostly living in the county have been excluded from equitable distribution of human and capital resources.

Speaking from Gituamba Township in Gatundu North sub county on Monday 30th November 2015, the MCA said that due to continued political and economic oppression, youths and disabled persons have been left out in the allocation of tenders and work contracts.

"Allocation of most tenders and work contracts for the youth, disabled persons and women is constitutional. In fact all government and private sectors are required to adhere to this ruling. I will soon table a bill in parliament to strengthen youth and disabled tender allocation," he said.

Ng’ang’a urged the county government of Kiambu to end their continued row with the small business persons saying that small businesses are a great source of income for the county.

"Improve the youth morale by employing them and apply affirmative action when it comes to the awarding of tenders and contracts," he said.

Ng’ang’a noted that the county had enough resources to offer better infrastructural and health services for its residents urging thus urged the county government to consider renovating Gatunguru-Mataara road which he termed as deplorable.
