Nominated MCA Emma Mbugua now wants the county government of Nakuru to set aside a special bursary fund for the disabled.
Mbugua said it has been hard for persons living with disabilities to access the bursaries being given by the county government because of the logistics involved.
She said most needy students who are disabled have been left out of the bursary allocations because they cannot cope with the hectic application process.
"Our PLWDs have not benefited from the bursaries being given by the county government and we want the county government to set aside a special bursary fund specifically for disabled for us to create a level playing ground," she said.
She added; "If we can have a special bursary fund for them, it will be easier for the disabled to access the money because we will put up logistics that will favour them when making applications."
