Uasin Gishu County Assembly speaker Isaac Tererhas urged MCAs to put the executive in check by playing their oversight role appropriately.
Speaking at the assembly on Wednesday, Terer said that MCAs are the representatives and the watchdogs of the public meant to ensure that the executive does not embezzle funds meant to benefit the public.
"As a county assembly we are mandated to play an oversight role to ensure the executive does not break any law while executing its powers and also to ensure public funds are not misused," he said.
He said MCAs should ensure that money allocated to CeCs to run their ministries is utilised well in a transparent manner.
"MCAs should always be putting th executive on toes if they suspect mischief where the public funds are not accounted for," he added.
He however urged MCAs to ensure that money given to them to fund projects is used to fund the respective projects and warned them against corruption.
"As the speaker I won't tolerate corruption and any MCA who will be found embezzling taxpayers' money will be shown the door through vote of no confidence and election conducted to replace them," he warned.
