Kitutu Masaba Member of Parliament Timothy Bosire has challenged Nyamira County MCAs to use development money wisely to benefit Nyamira residents.
This comes after wild allegations were made by some county leaders of development funds misuse and corruption in the county government.
Speaking on Tuesday in Nyamira Primary School, the law maker said the key goal of devolution is to promote development at the grassroots.
“I am asking Nyamira MCAs to use money wisely in developing this county and to avoid engaging in corruption,” said Bosire.
He also urged the MCAs to compel governor John Nyagarama to make public a report on all development projects in the county.
Nyagarama early this year formed a committee to investigate how development projects had been executed in Nyamira but the committee's report has not reached the County Assembly, despite being handed over to the him months ago.
“The report has some fake projects and details corruption deals that is why the governor has failed to table the report in the assembly. We must compel to make the report public,” he added.
