A legislator from Nakuru County has asked the media to exercise fairness and highlight the plight of the marginalised in society.
Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri said the media plays an integral part in shaping any society and therefore its fairness is highly called for.
He further advised journalists to avoid taking bribes and being compromised noting that such a move could hurt the quest for truth, which he observed is very vital for the progress of society.
At the same time he challenged the media to give more attention to the downtrodden saying it is only through the Fourth Estate that their plight will be observed.
Ngunjiri was addressing the press in a Nakuru hotel on Sunday.
