Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo, deputy minority leader in the National Assembly  has warned Nyanza MPs against unnecessary political wrangles.

He said the MPs should stop unnecessary political quarrels and do what they were elected to.

He asked them to go to the country's capital and legislate laws to strengthen devolution instead of regular visits to the villages with the aim of setting campaign platforms for next year's election.

"The MPs were elected to work with the National government. I therefore, urge them to go to Nairobi and represent their constituents. Let them do what they were elected to instead of staying in the rural's to make unnecessary noise," said the MP.

Midiwo was speaking on Saturday during a burial service of Mathews Odeny Onduru at his home in Uyoma, Rarieda constituency.

Until his demise, Onduru was the MCA of West Uyoma ward. Midiwo pointed out to the recent war of words between Suba MP John Mbadi and his Rarieda counterpart Nicholas Gumbo.

Mbadi, who is the ODM chairman, is said to have made remarks of the campaign against Gumbo's gubernatorial ambition in 2017.

Other dignitaries present during the ceremony were Siaya governor Cornell Rasanga, Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo and a number of MCAs.

The governor, Rasanga, also speaking during the ceremony told the legislators to stop interest and concentrating in local issues but instead they represent their constituents at the national level.

He also urged them not to get involved in early campaigns.
