Moi University Chancellor Prof Miriam Were has urged institutions of higher learning to involve in innovative programs to boost education and development in the country.
Speaking on Tuesday at Moi University College of Health Sciences in Eldoret during a celebration that marked 25 years since the college’s inception, Prof Were also lauded the effort of collaborations in education while encouraging other institutions to do the same.
"It has come a time that innovation among institutions is key to improving education standards. As we celebrate 25 years of existence of this college, it has been a successful collaboration with Linkoping University of Sweden which has ensured the progress of the institutions and this should be followed by others," Prof Were said.
The collaboration has seen Moi University open up a school of medicine among other initiatives. Prof Were also called on individuals to document the success of the college in a book so that it can act as an inspiration to other institutions.
"Having all these achievements is not enough unless it is noted down in a book. I therefore take this opportunity to urge scholars to take this role and write a book to remind us of these," she said.
The celebration was also attended by representatives from Linkoping University, Deans and leaders of the College of Health Science from Moi University fraternity at large.
