The national government through the Ministry of Interior and Coordination has donated new motorbikes for chiefs in Molo constituency in an effort to enhance security.

Speaking on Wednesday when handing over the new bikes in Molo, MP Jacob Macharia hailed the government’s effort in enhancing security within the area.

“This is part of a wider nationwide program by the ministry of interior coordination all chiefs in Molo constituency now have a brand new motorcycle and we await those of the assistant chiefs. This will make coordination of administrative activities in our constituency easy and effective,” he said.

He added that the government has sought to enhance security from the grassroot and has therefore bought the bikes for administrative officers who are well placed to handle security matters at the grassroots.

Chiefs on their part reiterated that availability of motorbike will ease their day to day operations.

They said that mobility has more often than not hampered movement to areas which are quite far from their offices.

“There are times when you need to move to a certain location and sort out a case but you do not get there in time because we are constrained in terms of mobility,” said Mutamaiyu Chief John Kibe.

The national government has embarked on a robust mission to provide motor bikes to chiefs and other administrative officers across the country in the effort to enhance security.
