Water shortage will soon be a thing of the past in Molo constituency and its environs after area MP Jacob Macharia through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) kitty on Saturday launched the Witima Water Dam project that is expected to ensure continuous supply of clean water to area residents.

Speaking at Witima Primary School after presenting a Kshs. 2.6 million cheque to oversee the project, Macharia expressed his commitment in ensuring the supply of clean and affordable water to his constituents saying that water was necessary in all day to day activities.

He tasked the contractor in charge of the project to stick to quality saying that shoddy work would not be tolerated.

“Some contractors have formed a habit of misusing CDF funds once they win tenders by using sub-standard materials; this time before a contractor hands over any finished project, everything must be assessed to confirmed if it adheres to the basic operational standards,” he said.

The project is expected to serve water to Witima farm, Elburgon farm and Mukinyai Murimo farm; three of the largest fresh food and vegetable producing farms in the constituency.

Macharia noted that the project will go hand in hand with the on-going road renovation project saying that his desire is to see a fully productive Molo with free flow of goods and services.
