Two notorious women who have been involved in conning Molo residents have been arrested by police.
Police in Molo said they are holding the women after being suspected of conning residents claiming they are in a position to pray for their money to multiply tenfold.
Confirming the incident on Friday, Molo OCPD Mr Job Lesinkwa said they are investigating the two following a series of crimes targeting residents mostly women in Molo.
“We are interrogating the two suspects following claims that they have been conning members of the public of their cash,” said Lesinkwa.
Lesinkwa said that the police arrested the two after a vehicle they were travelling in went into a ditch.
He said the suspects had carried a woman whom they had tricked but the woman became suspicious and wanted them to alight but they refused to let her disembark prompting the woman to use force and in the process the car lost control and went into a ditch.
Lesinkwa said boda operators came to her rescue and the woman narrated to them the incidence. The boda boda operators called police from Molo Police Station.
Lesinkwa urged the pubic to come forward and register complaints if they have fallen the victims of the scam.
He further urged members of public not to be deceived by people who are willing to get quick riches.
“How would money multiply, this is deceitful and public must be careful,” said Lesinkwa.
He said the suspects will be arraigned in court once investigations are complete.
