More pupils from Kibera primary schools on Tuesday morning were taken to Nakumatt Prestige for the screening of He Named Me Malala movie.

This comes after the office of Kibra MP Ken Okoth in conjunction with Moving Cultures extended the screening exercise.

Speaking to this writer on the phone, Kibra constituency parliamentary liaison Vincent Ayako said since the exercise started, about 5,000 pupils have benefited from the programme.

“We were targeting 10,000 children. Up to now, the number of pupils who have attended the screening exercise is 5,000. We have extended up to Friday when the children will be going back to school after a one week break to allow class eight candidates sit their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exams,” said Ayako.

The screening which started last week, is being sponsored by the area MP.

The movie is being used as a teaching aid whereby it motivates the pupils to be empowered and also challenges them to embrace education.

This comes after more than 60 head teachers in Kibera agreed that the pupils should watch the movie.
