More than 3000 children in Matungulu sub-county today January 30, got free rheumatic diseases screening which was held in Nguluni, Matungulu sub-county.
The programme was organised by Mater hospital which is aimed at helping kids with rheumatic diseases get medication.
Addressing the media one of the doctors identified as Dr Rosalia Mbela said that they were expecting 3000 children but due to the high turnout the number will increase.
Mbela said that the kids found with any of the diseases will be referred to Mater hospital for treatment.
"Actually, we were expecting three thousand kids for screening but more kids are trickling in, seems we will get more children," she said.
She added that payment for the treatment will depend on the family's background.
