A motorist met his death on Saturday morning after colliding with a truck along Kisii- Kericho road. The motorist died on the spot while his passenger sustained very serious injuries and was rushed to Nyamira Level 5 hospital in a critical condition.
According to Nyamira OCPD Erick Ongare, the truck which was heading from Kisii to Kericho hit the motorcycle which was coming from the opposite direction at the Konate round- about after it lost its lane as it tried to run around the corner.
"Police officers assessed the accident and found that the truck lost its lane and hit the motorcycle which had just appeared from the sharp corner heading to the opposite direction," explained Ongare.
The body of the motorist was taken to Nyamira level 5 hospital mortuary.
