Nakuru woman representative Mary Mbugua has called on the government to work closely with widows and marginalised groups in the county to uplift their living standards.
Speaking during the Bahati Single Mothers' and Widows' day at Kiamaina Primary School play ground, Mbugua urged women to form groups since she has already started working with them and lobbied the government to put more input to them.
"I want to help women of this county especially the single and widowed to get various social services as well access to government services such as tenders," Mbugua said Saturday.
The MP explained to the women about the various funds set by the government to assist women and youths as well as those marginalised.
She distributed food to them as Valentines gift and promised to look for various avenues to help empower them.
