Yatta MP Francis Mwangangi has called on politicians to stop politicking unnecessarily and focus on development.

The MP said 2017 was still far and that the time now was for leaders to fulfill their election pledges.

Mwangangi was speaking at Matuu nursery school in his constituency on Friday.

He said reckless talk among politicians can cause tension among Kenyans.

Mwangangi said what Kenyans want now is performance from the leaders they elected after the 2013 general election.

He called on Kenyans to unite and develop the country.

He told Governor Dr Alfred Mutua to ensure all sectors in the county are developed.

He said the improving state of counties in the country was an indicator that devolution was a better model for governance.
