The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Thursday expressed concern over the under utilisation of the Biometric Voter Registration kits, noting  that averagely, each kit registered only six voters per day. 

The commission on its official twitter page, further states that BVR kits are highly underutilised but growing awareness will help improve.

The electoral body has at the time released details of what seems to be the best performing counties regarding the ongoing massive voter registration drive.

The afternoon update notes the top 10 counties in #VoterRegistration at the end of first week as Kajiado 118%, Siaya 60%, Migori 43%, Homabay 43%, kirinyaga 43%, Kisumu 38%, Nakuru 34%, Nyandarua 32% and Marsabit 32%.

However, Kajiado, Siaya and Kiambu counties have been recorded to be leading in voter registration while Bomet, Trans Nzoia and Wajir trail in week one.

Meanwhile, 251,894 applied for voter registration during the first week of the exercise, against a target of 1,037,893, this according to IEBC latest results as at  February 21, 2016.
