Barely a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta reshuffled the Cabinet, a section of Nakuru youth leaders have challenged Governor Kinuthia Mbugua to follow suit.

The leaders say that Kinuthia should follow the example set by President Kenyatta if he wants to see a change in the running of the county.

The leaders claim that some of the current CeCs and chief officers are suspected of involvement in corruption.

“We have seen documents claiming that they are given a night out allowance of Sh50,000 while on some trips. For a county that is suffering from poor drainage, I feel that that should be directed elsewhere,” said Mohamed Hamisi, a youth leader.

“There is need for Kinuthia to analyse the people who he put in power and especially gauge their leadership ability and credibility,” Peter Kinyua added.

Magdaline Waithera, a youth who was in their company, accused the governor of reshuffling his cabinet selectively to suit personal needs.

“Whenever any leader is implicated in graft, as it was in the case of the Finance minister Francis Mathea, the governor is quick to transfer him to a different department,” she claims.

They were speaking on Wednesday at a Youth Meeting in Rhonda.
