Ndumberi Ward Representative Ngugi Uiri has urged youth in the area to utilise the development funds being given to them by the government well by venturing into meaningful business ventures.
Speaking to youth at Ndumberi trading centre on Tuesday, the MCA said that youth have a chance to get empowered if they use the funds given to them by the government wisely.
The ward representative said young people and marginalised groups will be empowered socio-economically if they engage and take part in development.
Mr Uiri observed that the government has taken the step towards empowering marginalised groups adding that it is up to them to take advantage of the opportunities.
“Young people, women and persons living with disabilities should utilise the opportunities the government is offering for their own empowerment,” he said.
The Ndumberi MCA at the same time urged youth to support the government on development.
He stated that young people can be of great importance if they partner with their government and leaders on development.
He assured the youth of his commitment to address issues facing them especially junemployment.
On Sunday, area Member of Parliament Jude Njomo asked youth to be peace ambassadors and shun activities that will put them on the wromg side of the law.
The MP said he will work hard to promote the welfare and empowerment of marginalised groups.
