Bahati Member of Parliament Onesmus Kimani Ngunjiri has donated Kshs. 1.4 million to initiate the building of two classrooms at Central Primary School in Kiamaina.
The MP said that he is appalled by the pathetic state the school is in saying that he will do everything possible to make sure that it has been built to the highest standards possible.
“I am saddened by the state of this school because it is in a deplorable condition yet it has a population of 200 students; this should not be the state it should be in,” said Ngunjiri on Wednesday at the school.
The school has mud walled classes and two more permanent classes which are in a wanting state.
He said that he will commit Bahati CDF into funding the building of two classes every year so that the school can change.
“I have started the journey now and I will not stop at anything. I will make sure that every year two classes are built using CDF funds,” he said.
He urged residents of the area to be patient as he would live up to his promise since they are his greatest supporters and time is due for developing their school.
He also toured Murungaru Primary School where he issued a Kshs. 800, 000 cheque to the school’s committee for the building of a classroom.
The school has a population of 1, 300 pupils and an extra classroom will help to take care of education needs for the high number of students.
