Njoro MP Joseph Kiuna has called on parents in the constituency to apply for bursary from the constituency’s development fund.
Speaking on Tuesday to the public in the constituency, Kiuna stated that application forms are available and needy parents or families should apply.
“The forms are here and ready for collection at the CDF offices. We want to help you take your child to school and if you feel that you need assistance, apply now,” he said.
Kiuna further noted that he has engaged the constituency’s bursary committee in talks previously to ensure that more children benefit from the bursary next year.
He said that next year, many children will be joining secondary school and the number of those anticipated to apply will be high.
“Next year we have our children joining form one and we expect to have a slightly high number of the applications. We have taken this into consideration and we encourage parents to apply so that we be part of the aid that they may require in educating their children,” said Kiuna.
He, however, did not disclose how much has been allocated by CDF to go into the bursary scheme. The application deadline is January 1, 2016.
