Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery has issued orders for the arrest of the directors of the troubled Ng’ati Farmers’ Co-operative Company in Maella, Naivasha.
Acoording to Daily Nation online news, Nkaissery gave the order Wednesday after a tour of the area, accompanied by senior government officials.
"I have been informed that part of the land was sold for Sh505 million but members only received Sh249 million, everyone including me, is asking; where the rest is," Nkaissery said.
He also directed the Rift Valley CID boss to have the five directors of the company record statements and if there are irregularities, they should be charged in court.
Last week, Naivasha MP John Kihagi had petitioned Nkaiserry and his Lands counterpart, Jacob Kaimenyi to resolve the Maella land dispute.
