Kiambu County Commissioner Alex Nkoyo has denied claims of engaging inKiambu politics as alleged by some leaders.

Speaking in Gatundu North on Saturday, Nkoyo said that as a public official he has never engaged in politics adding that his mandate as a county commissioner is clearly stipulated.

He asked those spreading rumors about him engaging in politics to stop.

The commissioner said that he is keen to implement national government agenda in the county.

“I am not a politician and for some people to go on spreading rumors that I am undermining them is unfair,” he said.

Nkoyo said that he is working with leaders in the county on development matters and not politics.

Kiambu governor William Kabogo has on several occasions accused Nkoyo and other county officials of allegedly engaging in politics.

During the Jamhuri day celebrations early this month, Kabogo warned county civil servants against politics.

The Governor said that county staffs are not permitted to engage in politics and instead asked them to concentrate on their duties.

“Politics should be left to politicians alone and anyone one else employed by the national or the county government as must concentrate on the duties,” Kabogo said.
