Kiambu county commissioner Alex Ole Nkoyo has vowed to streamline security in the county by cracking down on criminal gangs.

Speaking to the press after an introductory meeting with county security officials at Kiambu county headquarters office on Monday, Nkoyo said that his key agenda as the new Kiambu commissioner is to provide adequate security to the residents and their properties.

Nkoyo said that he will work with other government agencies to ensure that law and order prevails in the county.

“I am happy to be deployed in Kiambu and i want to assure residents of my commitment to improve and guarantee the safety of every citizen,” he said.

The Kiambu commissioner further called for support of the residents saying that it is critical for the realisation of security. He appealed to them to embrace the security initiatives being introduce by the national and the county government.

“My request will be to all Kiambu residents to embrace the security measures the government is formulating so that we can be able to combat crime,” he added.

Mr. Nkoyo also said that much effort will be put towards fighting illicit brews. He said that illicit brewing will not be tolerated in the county adding that local chiefs have been briefed to continue the fights against illicit brewers.

The introductory meeting was attended by various security officials from the Kiambu county.
