Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama has urged county residents to subject his critics and him to a scorecard when making a major judgment in 2017 elections.

A jovial Nyagarama, who was addressing residents of Kiabonyoru Ward on Monday said it would be unfair for residents to subject him to a score card, saying a number of his competitors were an impediment to development hence deserved to be subjected to a score card too.

“I have been hearing some of my competitors urging you to subject me to a score card in 2017. They must also be subjected to the same because we all have a role of transforming the society social- economically. It’s also good to note that some of them are busy inciting innocent residents against my projects and that isn’t good leadership,” he said.

Nyagarama also faulted his competitors for being egocentric, by refusing to share with him ideas on how best to develop the county for the benefit of all residents.

“I have even invited a number of them to the negotiation table but none is willing to come. They are smearing my name yet the door to my office is open. Leadership is consultative and good leaders should always work together regardless of their egos. They also have a role to play not just those who are in power only,” he said.

He challenged all leaders to work as a team and shun divisive politics for the sake of propagating development to the locals.

“Do not go around engaging in politics of naming. Electorates will carefully dissect what we have done and how effective we’ve done it. Unity is fundamental because today I need your support and tomorrow you will equally ask for the same from me,” he said.
