Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama's wife, Naomi Nyagarama, has called on residents to observe sanity and preserve the environment.
Speaking on Friday at Kebirigo during a clean up exercise Ms Nyagarama challenged leaders to spearhead the cleanup of the county.
She promised to extend the clean up exercise to other towns and market centres and appealed for residents to come out and support the initiative.
She said interior and feeder roads in the county would be worked on for efficient in transportation.
“We want our county to look clean and smart but this will only be if we all come up and clean up the county," she said.
"We have begun at Kebirigo and we will go across the county in cleaning up towns and market centres like Magombo and Keroka among others."
Bonyamatuta Member of County Assembly Robinson Mochache lauded the move by Ms Nyagarama for cleaning up the county and asked residents to be disciplined and take sanity in their hands.
Among those who accompanied her were MCAs and officers from the county government.
