Weeks after the Form One selection exercise was completed, some students from Nyamira County who scored good marks to gain admission in secondary schools are yet to get their admission letters.
According to some of the parents, a candidate who scored 398 marks at St Augustine Academy in Nyamira, Diana Nyakwama, and admitted to Bahati Girls in Nakuru County is yet to receive her admission letter.
Another parent, Mr Paul Osiemo whose daughter, Nipher Osiemo sat for the KCPE examination at the same school and admitted to Sironga Girls School in Nyamira had not received his daughter’s admission letter to the institution.
“I received a message that my daughter had been selected to join Sironga Girls but up to now I haven’t received any letter so that I can take her to the school," said Osiemo.
He called on the county government to ensure that schools receive the letters before it's too late.
The delay in posting of the admission letters, the parents argued, besides agonising the students had also placed them in awkward positions and a state of confusion while pondering whether to scout for alternative schools for their children or keep on waiting.
