Nyamira politicians have been urged to mobilise eligible voters to register as voters in an exercise that kicked off early Monday morning.
Speaking at Nyamira Grounds, Regional IEBC coordinator Charles Mutai said that politicians should spearhead the importance of the electorates to register as voters in readiness for 2017 general elections.
He further said that politicians are at a good position of ensuring that they lobby those who have attained the age of 18 to register as voters ahead of the major 2017 election.
“We know that the politicians are good at communicating to the locals easily than any other IEBC officials therefore its high time they get up and help in the process,” he added
He said that they have already talked to them and he expects that they will attain their target this year.
“We have already called and had discussions with the local politicians on how we can work together so that we can achieve our goals,” he added.
He also called upon eligible voters to ensure that they register as voters within the set time as the voter registration was officially launched on Monday.
