Nyando CDF manager Kennedy Ooko has finally surrendered to the police.

Ooko presented himself at Ahero police station accompanied by his lawyer. The manager has been on the run since December 25, 2015.

This followed allegations that he shot dead a guard, Kennedy Omondi of Ganjo security firm.

Omondi was on night duty that Christmas Day at Jesmic Hotel in Ahero Town where Ooko had gone for a drink.

He surrendered after his picture was circulated in Ahero Town on Tuesday and an appeal by the police for information on his whereabouts from the public issued.

Area OCPD Elias Gitonga confirmed that the suspect was now in custody. He also said the gun had been confiscated.

"I want to confirm that the suspect is now in custody and we have confiscated the gun as we commence investigation before we take any action," said Gitonga.

The OCPD added that the suspect is expected to be arraigned in court on Thursday to answer charges. He went missing after the alleged shooting.

A witness who is an attendant who served the manager said the guard was shot point blank on the head when he tried to stop Ooko from exiting the premise without clearing his bill.

Police launched a hunt for the manager after the incident.
