Kiambu county women representative Anne Nyokabi has challenged opposition leaders to support government development agenda.

Speaking in Lari on Saturday when she met members of the Naitera Community Group, Nyokabi said that government development agenda will be realized if opposition supports its activities.

She stated that opposition has a role to play in development adding that their frequent criticism against the government is likely to derail development.

“Opposition leaders should provide alternative suggestions to the government on how to handle the problems facing the country instead of meaningless criticism and propaganda,” she said.

The Women Rep said that though the opposition is mandated to keep the government in checks, it should also support development agenda.

Nyokabi at the same lauded the Jubilee government for standing firm amidst harsh criticisms from the opposition. The Women Representative  said that the government has to stand firm in order to spearhead development and unite Kenyans.

On the same note, the Kiambu Women Representative urged leaders across the political divide to spearhead unity campaigns.

She raised concerns over what she termed as increasing intolerance among some leaders saying that it would easily cause disunity among Kenyans.
