The youth who were contracted in the National Youth Service in Kitutu Chache South constituency have been asked to report to work as from December 5, 2015.

Speaking in Kisii town on Friday, area MP Richard Onyonka said the youth will resume work after the exercise was stopped over a month ago.

He asked them to present their identification documents when reporting to work.

"I ask the youth in the NYS programme in my constituency to report to work on Saturday with their IDs. The IDs will be used for verification," said Onyonka.

The legislator appealed to the government to roll out the program throughout the county to enable youth get jobs.

"The NYS programme has seen our youths get employed. We laud the government for this. I ask it to take the program to other six constituencies in the county as one way of dealing with unemployment issue," he added.

For now, only Kitutu Chache South, Kitutu Chache North and Bonchari constituencies have young people working under the NYS.
