Thika West OCPD Erastus Muthamia has asked residents to share information with police in a bid to tame crime in the area.

Addressing members of the public at Thika Town on Thursday, Muthamia said that security will be intensified if residents are willing and ready to share information about suspects with law enforcers.

The OCPD said the work of police will be made easier if the locals are ready to give information.

“Members of the public should not shy away from providing us with information on the whereabouts of criminals. As law enforcers, we will continue to appeal for information from members of the public to enable us effectively handle criminal elements,” said Muthamia.

Mr Muthamia added that his office is open to the public urging residents to feel free to give information.

The OCPD said that no one will be intimidated for giving information on the whereabouts of criminals.

Muthamia also assured residents of their security ahead of the festive season, adding that police will mount more security patrols in the area to tame criminal elements.

He warned criminal gangs marauding in the area saying they will be hunted down and appropriate legal action taken against them.

He said that more police patrols have been organised to smoke out criminals from their hide outs.
