The ongoing Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) grassroots elections flopped on Tuesday in Bomachoge Borabu constituency, Kisii County, with two opposing sides differing over the manner the elections were to be conducted.
The elections that were to take place at Magena Primary School saw opponents Joash Maaga and Evans Ondara differ on whether delegates or registered members should have voted.
Police officers intervened to stop the scuffle and the exercise was stopped henceforth.
The aspirants also accused the returning officer of colluding with his preferred candidate to win the election.
"He came as late as 2pm. There could be something going on somewhere, they wanted to rig the elections," claimed Maaga.
The situation was not different in Nyamira's North Mugirango constituency, where the elections also flopped.
