Nakuru youth advisor to the governor Kimani wa Kimani has challenged youth to vie for political seats.

Speaking at a youth meeting in Shabab on New Year's eve, Mr Kimani added that youth hold the key to bringing change in the political arena.

Kimani added that the county was lagging behind as some of the leaders who were elected in various position did not bring in new ideas.

“We need new brains which can spearhead development and change in the area. I am appealing to all the youth who have leadership abilities to take advantage of the move,” he said.

“We will help in training them and ensuring that they know what is required of them especially in terms of the legal and party requirements,” he added.

He also called on politicians to mentor the young politicians to prevent them from making mistakes.

“We are calling on the youth in the area who are interested in politics to organise for a meeting and we will try to ensure that all the leaders attend the meeting."
