Kisii governor James Ongwae participated in an annual Bomachoge Culture and Sports Festival at Misesi grounds on Saturday.

It was fun sampling traditional games like tug of war, wrestling (enyameni), athletics, traditional dance and songs among others.

He thanked Bomachoge Chache MP Simon Ogari and the county's department of culture for organising the event.

"Besides bringing people together to usher in the New Year, the event serves to showcase the Gusii cultural heritage. As a county government, we are committed to preserving and promoting the Gusii culture for the benefit of current and future generations," said Ongwae.
