Speaking at Nyabururu Primary School on Friday when he launched the tree planting campaign, Mr Moseti said through Cyrus Moseti Foundation they are slated to plant over 10,000 trees across the ward.

He urged residents to be in the fore front in protecting the environment through tree planting.

"It is a responsibility of everyone to protect the environment. Therefore I urge children, the youth and elderly to take advantage of the current heavy rains to plant trees in plenty. Am spearheading the campaign whereby am targeting all primary schools," said the youthful politician.

He added: "We will plant at least 10000 trees."

Moseti challenged the county government to support the program to see all wards embracing the tree planting exercise.

"Tress are very important for rain attraction and a source for firewood. The government should be in the front sensitising Kisii county residents on the importance of trees."
