More than 400 residents of Elburgon in town, Molo sub-county on Wednesday turned up for a free medical camp held at Praise Courts International Deliverance Church.

The two-day event is organised by Amkeny-Kacoinc, a non-profit organisation which annually invites a team medical experts from the US to offer free medical examinations in selected areas across the country.

According to the country's coordinator, Martha Kimuyu, this year's camp will take place in Nakuru and Machakos counties.

The services being offered will include general medical care, eye clinic, dental care, VCT services and cancer screening for women.

However, Pastor John Thuo of Deliverance Church, which hosts the Nakuru camp, has urged more residents to turn up despite facing time challenge as majority of residents are farmers.

He urged local leaders to join in encouraging healthy living among residents.

Students of Egerton and St Paul's universities, Nakuru town campus assisted the team of experts from the US in facilitating delivery of medical services.

The Nakuru free medical camp ends closed on Thursday.
