Parents in Nakuru county have been challenged to ensure that their children who have attained the age of 18 are registered as voters. Political activist Abdul Noor called on parents to ensure that they escort their children to registration centers.
Speaking Tuesday at Nakuru town, Noor said that most young people especially those living with their parents are not taking the issue of registration seriously.
"Most young people especially those still staying with their parents are not taking this issues seriously and parents should talk to them and ask them to register," said Noor.
Noor said that there is a huge number of young people who attained the age of 18 last year but are not showing any interest in registering. "In Nakuru we have so many young men and women who attained the voting age this year but they just don't want to register and its worrying," Noor said.
