People living with disabilities in Uasin-Gishu County have accused the county government of marginalising them.
Speaking on Friday in Eldoret, the chairperson of Uasin Gishu People Living With Disabilities Forum Regina Chumba claimed the disabled in the county have been sidelined in several sectors, such as business and employment.
She added that the governor has been avoiding them whenever they try to book appointments with him.
“We have tried several times to book appointments with the governor, but shockingly, we are not given any attention. We are just like other human beings,” said Chumba.
The group also accused the county government of misusing Sh20 million allocated to the disabled.
“We were allocated Sh20 million but since then we have not received any penny, it's now clocking four years and there is no prospect,” she said.
