Motorists in Kangundo have been urged to be vigilant during this rainy season.

A senior police officer said most roads in the sub county were slippery as a result of the rain.

This, he said, posed a danger to motorists and pedestrians.

Speaking in Kangundo town on Tuesday, Kangundo sub county Traffic Commander David Okisai observed that due to heavy rains being experienced in the area, most roads were wet and slippery posing a danger to speeding vehicles and motorists.

The officer asked the motorist to ensure they wear protective gears like helmet, boots and reflector jackets to prevent them from getting severe injuries during accidents.

"Many motorists do not consider using protective gears while driving or riding their motorcycles without knowing the danger they are exposing themselves into," said Okisai.

Okisai said motorists operating without protective gear will be arrested and prosecuted since they were exposing themselves and their customers to danger.

He also urged the motorists to change their worn out tires.

He said worn out tires are easy to cause accidents.
