Police in Gatundu North sub county have raised an alarm over the increased M-pesa robberies targeting M-Pesa shops in Kamwangi town.
Kamwangi OCPD Daniel Makori said that 4 cases have been reported with the last being a Tuesday night incident.
"On Tuesday we had an M-pesa theft incident where an agent lost Kshs. 63, 000. We have information regarding the theft and we are doing everything possible to pursue the perpetrators," he said.
Makori said that another attendant lost Kshs. 24, 000 in the area adding that police have vital leads that will help them to nail the criminals.
Speaking from his office in Kamwangi town on Wednesday, Makori called on the residents to share intelligence with the police to avert such cases.
He urged plot owners in Kamwangi town to employ competent guards who can help to alert the police on time in case of such incidences in the future.
