Police in Nakuru have launched investigations into the murder of a Nakuru businessman who was abducted and killed by a gang suspected to be a car theft syndicate.
According to the police investigation, Alex Mariera was killed by people he was to sell a car to.
Mariera had reportedly posted his car on an online website where sellers and buyers meet.
The suspects developed interest and travelled from Nairobi to Nakuru where they lured the deceased to go for a road test to ensure the car was in good state.
Nakuru County head of the investigations, Samuel Barongo Ongote, said they are following crucial leads to arrest suspects.
“We found the deceased murdered and dumped by the roadside, but investigations are in top gear,” Ongote said.
