Police in Kiambu on Sunday nabbed 300 litres of illicit brew that was being transported from Nairobi's Mathare area to Ndumberi, Kiambu County.
The vehicle transporting the brew was nabbed by traffic officers at Thindigua along Kiambu Road.
Police also arrested two individuals, a man and a woman, who were believed to be engaging in the illegal business.
Confirming the incident in his office, Kiambu OCPD SSP Stephen Ng'etich said the pickup was from Nairobi's Mathare area and was transporting the illicit alcohol to Ndumberi, Kiambu.
He said that 300 litres of illicit brew were found in the pickup packed in 20 litre-jerrycans.
He said that two suspects were also arrested, the driver and the woman who is suspected to be a brewer of the illegal liquor.
The police boss also confirmed that brewing of illicit liquor in the area was still going on.
He said that Kirigiti, Ndumberi and Ting'ang'a were the most affected areas, adding that the police had not relaxed on the crackdown against illicit brew sale, stating that the fight was still on.
"I want to call on the public and all area chiefs to crack the whip on anyone engaging in the business.
