A Member of Parliament from Nakuru County has cautioned youths against being misled by politicians, saying that some were out to lie for political reasons.
Speaking in his constituency Thursday evening during the launch of the Molo constituency soccer tournament dubbed 'the Jacob Macharia Peace Tournament', area MP Jacob Macharia called on youths to make wise decisions and avoid mingling with leaders with questionable agendas.
He said that young people were the biggest shareholders of any vibrant economy and should remain firm so as not to fall prey to 'bad leaders'.
"In politics, there are no permanent friends or enemies, our young people got to understand that we only have people with similar interests and ambitions. Don't be cowed," Macharia noted.
The legislator asked other leaders to join him in preaching peace ahead of the 2017 general elections saying that it will be sad for any aspirant to incite the residents against one another with the energies and resources he was investing.
Macharia advised young people to desist from crime and drug abuse, saying that the two were making the constituency lag behind development wise.
"Never expect me to change you, I will only talk to you and go, change is a personal decision. Live a good life for a better Molo that all of us will be proud of," he advised.
After completion of the first phase that comprised teams from respective wards, two teams were selected and are expected to battle it out at the constituency with Macharia fully financing the tournament to help drive his peace agenda home.
