A poor family in Gikuni, Kabete constituency has benefited from a three bedroom house courtesy of Githua Wamacukuru, a 2017 member of parliament aspirant in Kabete.

Speaking from Gikuni, Wamacukuru noted that he heard of the family after one of his advisers leaked the information. He visited the family on Tuesday and offered to build them a better house.

According to Wamacukuru, the family has been living in a nylon paper made  house due to poverty and inability of the family heads.

"I heard about the dire poverty of this household from Wanjau, my adviser and I planned to visit. I have noted that indeed many people are living in abject poverty in Kabete. I will apart from building them a three roomed house pay the whole of their children school fees. The children have been at home for two weeks now due to lack of school fees," he said.

"I will ensure that no child in Kabete will lack access to basic education due to poverty. With my capacity and the boosting from government funding, I will ensure that all children access education till college and university levels," he added.

He further thanked Kabete people for their continued support on development projects in the area.
