Preparations for this year's Eldoret National Show scheduled to begin on Wednesday are complete, an official has said.
Agriculture Society of Kenya Eldoret Chairman Ratcliff Nangalama said that everything is ready and urged Uasin Gishu residents to show up in large number for them to experience new technologies that will improve their crops and animals breeds.
"In this year's show we have 150 exhibitors from the Ministry of Agriculture, tertiary institutions, animal and crops improved breeds among others, which guarantees farmers skills and knowledge to improve their agricultural skills," he said.
He said for the first there will be livestock auction on Friday, which is expected to be presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"This year we have 150 livestock for auction and farmers should carry some cash to go home with them," he said.
He said this year's show is meant to enhance technology in agriculture to boost food security in the country.
"We want farmers to embrace new farming and livestock keeping technologies for them to reduce cost of production and increase their production," he said.
The show will end on Saturday, March 5.
