Preparations for the Kisii Entrepreneurship Summit (KES) 2016 have begun.
The summit, which seeks to position Kisii County as an investment destination, will take place in the last week of February 2016 at the Kisii University.
The organising committee chaired by Kisii deputy governor Joash Maangi is working round the clock to ensure the event becomes a success.
Maangi held a meeting with members of the committee in his office on Wednesday and identified ten thematic areas for the summit.
They include; manufacturing, agro-processing and horticulture, banking and financial services, trade and tourism, infrastructure development, real estate, mining, energy and water resources, health services and education development.
“We are committed to ensure this summit becomes a success because it is only through investment that we can achieve our objective of becoming a middle income economy. We have an elaborate plan to involve the local and international diaspora as well as the youth in this summit,” said Maangi.
He further said that more details concerning the summit will be released soon.
