Police in Kisumu are prepared to ensure that the upcoming prayer rally for Prophet David Owuor is safe.
County security committee chairman John Elungata said preparations are near completion to give the faithfuls proper security.
Elungata who is also the county commissioner said they have drawn police officers from neighboring counties to boost security.
"There is adequate security personnel and I want to assure those going to attend the prayers that security is good,” he said.
Speaking to the press in Kisumu on Monday, Elungata said that there are also more officers in civilians who will be mingling with the faithful to nab criminals who want to take advantage of prayers.
A representative of Prophet Owuor in Kisumu, Pastor Helen Ochieng', announced that all preparations were in place to receive everybody coming for the prayer.
Ochieng' said the field where the Prophet will use to pray for the nation is ready, complete with proper security.
“The field is ready, water is ready, everything is ready and we are set to host Prophet Owuor and his team,” she said.
She announced that Prophet Owuor will on January 2 hold a meeting bringing pastors and other church leaders from the region.
